ALICANTE
ALICANTE
Situated at Playa de San Juan, very near to Alicante,
this modern, balanced course and was designed by
Severiano Ballesteros.
The course has a par of 72, with six par-3s,
six par-4s and six par-5s. The main feature of
the course is the vast abundance of water, which
makes for quite a tricky round.
The course is flat, not particularly strenuous
and you can see the green on all of the holes.
It has two unusual features: the first is the
lake in the shape of an S (the initial of the
designer) surrounding the green on the 9th; the
second is the Roman ruins next to the 14th which
the player has to clear to reach the green. Near to Alicante and with a wide range of accommodation
on offer.

EL PLANTIO
ALICANTE
Situated 3 kilometres from the city of Alicante
this is an urban course. It has one round of
18 holes and another one of 9, which makes it
great for all players. There is also a practice
course with covered tees on two levels and capacity
for 120 places, an approach course, a putting
green and an international golf school.
The 18-hole round has a par of 72, the 9-holer
is made up of par-3’s and there is another
18-hole course in the pipeline.
The course is liberally covered with vegetation
and the quality of the design and the excellent
condition of the greens and fairways really
stand out. The rounds are suitable to the requirements
and level of all players and so it is a fantastic
place for all the family. The complex boasts a 5-star hotel and there
is no shortage of alternative accommodation
in nearby hotels, flats and houses.

REAL
CLUB DE GOLF
CAMPOAMOR
ORIHUELA
The Real Club de Golf Campoamor, built on a former
country estate and surrounded by beautiful unspoilt
countryside, was designed to take advantage of
the unusual terrain of the area.
Its 18 holes run through two connected valleys
surrounded by low, gently undulating ridges
which protect it from the wind and create a
special microclimate which allows people to
play golf all the year round.
The course is situated about 100 metres above
sea level, and is bordered to the south by
the Tagus-Segura canal. In addition to this attractive and original
layout, with marvellous views over the intense
blue of the Mediterranean, the special features
of the course create difficult rounds for experienced
players and simpler ones for those new to the
sport.

RAMBLAS DE ORIHUELA
ORIHUELA
This 18-holer is on mountainous ground which makes
the course very interesting for players who like
to take a few risks. As it is very mountainous,
it calls for difficult strokes.
It is worth mentioning the many trees that
surround the course, and the water hazards.
There are slopes are all along the course and
although some of them are very difficult, they
make the game more attractive and interesting. The course is not too long and has wonderful
views. Accuracy is required.

ALENDA
MONFORTE
DEL CID
The Alenda Golf Club is situated very close
to the Sierra de las Aguilas mountains and
the sea, and this location means it has a pleasant
climate. It is an 18-hole course, with a gentle,
undulating and varied round. It is very entertaining
for players of all levels, and you will really
need to use all of your clubs. It’s quite
a quick round, as all of the holes are linked
together and the walks from green to tee are
short.
The first nine holes are medium length and
favour the accurate player over the big hitter.
The holes are easy to play and the fairways
are very wide, which helps on the tee shots.
The back nine holes require more concentration,
because this is the technical part of the course
where accuracy is more important than distance.
You have to be careful on the 16th and 18th,
as these are the two holes which will decide
the final result on your score card.
The greens give a special character to the
course because the slopes allow for a wide
variety of flag positions and you will need
to visualise the break very clearly when putting
and hit the ball with just the right amount
of “oomph” if you want to hole
out in good order.

JÁVEA
JÁVEA
Situated 90 kilometres from Alicante on the way
to Valencia, and sheltered from the wind by Cape
San Antonio, the course has a perfect microclimate
all the year round, and is located in a wonderful
natural setting, surrounded by pinewoods.
The round is very attractive, with gentle
slopes, excellently maintained greens, and
wide fairways flanked by pine trees and orange
trees. It is a 9-hole round but although it is not
very long it is certainly difficult, as it
is plagued by bunkers nearly all the way along
- 34 in total.

DON CAYO
ALTEA
The Don Cayo golf club was founded in 1974 by Don
Luis Campomanes Asumendi as part of the "El
Aramo" residential development project,
situated in the foothills of the Sierra Bernia
mountain range. It is located in the municipal
limits of Altea, a Mediterranean village famous
for the beauty of its historic quarter and the
distinctive natural light. With a round of 3,078
metres from the white tees, extremely difficult
holes - such as the 5th, a 580-metre par-5, or
the 6th, a slightly uphill 227-metre par-3 – alternate
with recovery holes which also require accuracy
if you want to land the ball on the fairway.
Players tend to prefer the 3rd, with its views
of the sea, and the 7th from where you can make
out the mountains surrounding the Marina Baixa.

BONALBA
MUTXAMEL
Situated very near to Alicante, and right next
to the Playa de San Juan, the course offers sensational
views of the sea and a perfect climate to enjoy
a game at any time of year.
With 18 holes and a par of 72, this is an
excellent course built on gentle ridges, with
wide fairways, undulating greens and strategically
located lakes.
The complicated design makes Bonalba an interesting
and fun challenge for the golfer and the variety
in the holes means there is never a dull moment.
The vegetation is typically Mediterranean
and there are plenty of palms and pine trees. The wonderful location in the coast of Alicante
means there is no shortage of accommodation

LA SELLA
DENIA
Located on the slopes of a mountain, the La Sella
Golf is not a particularly tiring course. It
lies next to Montgó natural park, and
is surrounded by Mediterranean woodland and hills.
Pine trees, orange trees, olives and almonds
add colour to the course and, although they are
pretty to look at, will cause big problems for
less accurate players.
The course has 18 holes and a par of 72. It
is varied and thought provoking, and moderate
in length and, if you know how to use all of
your clubs, you will be able to get a good result.
The design of the courses means it is suitable
for players of all levels, with the difficulty
apparent at the tees. The designer, with the
expert help of José María Olazábal,
designed the course in such a way that if you
miss the green, you will need all the virtuosity
of the Spanish Champion to save the par...

LA MARQUESA
ROJALES
Situated 58 kilometres from Alicante on the N-332.
It is located in a flat valley between mountains,
and the layout of the round alternates between
long holes and short ones. It is not excessively
difficult and so players of all levels will enjoy
it.
The most difficult factor lies in the characteristic
layout of the greens, with their attractive
and complicated slopes.
The round is bordered by streams and lakes,
which gives the course excellent views and
provides beautiful natural surroundings to
play in. The better players might find it a bit too
easy, but the majority will find it very pleasant
and will enjoy the excellent walk in a magnificent
part of the country. The varied and pleasant
round is lined with pines and palm trees. A
wonderful location offering a very pleasant
temperature both in summer and in winter.

VILLAMARTIN
ORIHUELA
The course is not too long, and is well adapted
to the natural surroundings and terrain.
It is a varied course, although the fact that
it is located in the lowest part of a valley
means it is not very undulating.
There is Mediterranean vegetation in abundance
as well as thick woods, although they rarely
come into play. The greens are not too small and each hole
is completely different. The difficulty of
this course lies in having to avoid a natural
precipice and several water hazards on some
holes.

IFACH
BENISSA
The Ifach golf course is situated in Moraira (Benissa)
on a country estate with the best views in the
Autonomous Region of Valencia.
It has a round of nine holes (6 par-3’s
and 3 par-4’s) and even though the holes
are short, the terrain and the narrow fairways
make them quite difficult and technical.
However, two rounds can be managed easily
and players will be able to enjoy their game
while admiring the view of the Peñón
de Ifach rock and the sun sparkling on the
Mediterranean Sea.
In short, a great place for a round of golf.
The position of the trees and bunkers makes
some holes more difficult and introduces variety
into how the holes have to be played.
The course was designed in such a way as to
make it necessary for players to use all of
their clubs and requires great control, not
only on the drive but also in the short game. The round is not too hard for beginners, nor
too tiring for tourists who play in the summer
season.

DE GOLF LA FINCA
ALGORFA
The LA FINCA golf club lies in natural surroundings
of great beauty and with fantastic views. Its facilities
are open to those people who want to play golf
in the heart of nature while being able to enjoy
the beaches, sailing clubs and a host of other
facilities and services just a few minutes away.
It is the newest course in the province of Alicante
and while it has been open to the public for
some weeks it has not yet been inaugurated officially.
La Finca golf course is situated at the foot
of Mount Escotera, in the municipality of Algorfa,
right in the heart of the Segura region.
Designed to host top tournaments, La Finca golf
course has the greatest variety of greens of
any course on the Costa Blanca, ranging in size
from very large to very small.
In addition, the course has a reserve hole so
that, in the event that one of the holes has
to be closed off unexpectedly, players are still
able to complete a full 18-hole round.
Several lakes with running water and reed beds
along the course add beauty and difficulty to
the game, and have made the course the home of
a wide variety of migratory water birds, such
as ducks and egrets, while the interior of the
course is home to olive and palm trees, thus
creating a beautiful backdrop of vegetation with
a distinctly Mediterranean flavour.

CLUB
DE GOLF REAL DE FAULA
BENIDORM
The club has two 18-hole courses:
Real de Faula Club de Golf North Course
This course, with its characteristic Nicklaus design,
is in the American style with wide fairways and
exquisitely shaped greens, and is more than 6,612
metres long. The views of the Mediterranean and
Finestrat mountain range are fantastic.
The area is completely unspoilt so you will be
able to enjoy your game in completely natural surroundings,
with views of the sea and the mountains in the
spectacular setting of the Levantine Mediterranean
mountain range.
Real de Faula Club de Golf South Course
The second round, with 18 holes, a par of 62, and
3,858 metres in length, lies on the slope of a
beautiful valley of Mediterranean pines, with views
of the sea and the mountains. The way the course
is designed makes it a great golfing experience
for players of all levels regardless of their handicap.
This is a shorter round but is no less exciting.
It requires a greater mastery of the short irons
and is very demanding on players with a low handicap,
although all of the holes offer alternatives to
players with medium and high handicaps.
